Dr. Pat Robertson Opens Mouth, Inserts Foot
Apparently Pat Robertson thinks this will somehow advance whatever twisted cause he has. On his popular television show, The 700 Club, Robertson again went after people. This time, rather than calling for an assassination (and earning the nickname "Dr. Pat Robertson", he would rather the people of Dover, Pennsylvania suffer and die should an act of God consume the town.
"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: if there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God, you just rejected Him from your city," Robertson said on his daily television show broadcast from Virginia, "The 700 Club."
"And don't wonder why He hasn't helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I'm not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that's the case, don't ask for His help because he might not be there," he said.
No matter how hard you pray, Dr. Robertson, you'll never have a good heart as long as you advocate suffering and death.
What ever happened to the kind and tolerant God? What happened to people of faith taking care of everyone, even if they don't agree with your views? What happened to the religion that he wants to spread? A religion that everyone would want to belong to because it makes us all better? Pat Robertson is advocating death because of how someone voted. Thank God nobody ever made him President when he ran. Every single person that didn't vote for him might be burned at the stake!
What's worse is not that Robertson is a nutcase perverting religion to fit his ideals but that one million people a day continue to look to this person as a spiritual leader. Plenty of people in this country listen to people that would seek to divide and harm. And for what? Their own agendas. Is that worth it?
Hopefully the people of Dover, Pennsylvania make a point of mocking such a person and showing everyone their true colors.
